Its the beginning of  'BER' months.   Countdown to christmas starts now!

Its another time for a sketch at Filipino Scrapbookers Challenge blog.  Here's the sketch to inspire you:

and my take on the sketch:  It is untitled  because  I plan to use it as a second page on the previous lay-out  I made earlier this year.  I really have lots of backloads.  Its halloween next month  and I haven't finished halloween photos of last year.

Monsoon creative rush

This past two weeks,  Mr Sunshine took a long vacation and went somewhere else.  Monsoon rains  hit Manila badly with lots of flooding in Central Luzon.  I am living in  a higher land  and not affected.  Though with the storm and monsoon rains  it is difficult to travel for work  and quite dangerous and with lots of flooding along the way.

With that,  we were house arrested!  No place to go.  And I just love that!  I had lots of time to play and hide in my favorite corner   and I was able to reduce my scrapbook backlogs!

Here's a page,  using the sketch in Inkido for this month's challenge and the textile challenge at berry71bleu.

loved these inkido blooms!

And here's another page,  using my scraps  and playing with mixed media.

36

I am proud to reveal my age  since it is only a number.   Reality only hits  when the toddler you used to take care of and plays with  now hangs out with you.  That when I feel  I really am getting old!

Here's a lay-out  celebrating life and thankful  for the blessings  I had this year.  Joining the textile challenge over at Berry71bleu!  I used a lace in my lay-out.

Always our Baby

Gotta scrap some old photos hanging around.
I miss these times when Zid was still a toddler. He only knows how to cuddle and play,  now he is already in grade school and learned to reason out with me.

Here's my take on the sketch of OUAS and anything goes  challenge of Berry Bleu71.

Bend it like Zid

This summer,  Zid joined a football clinic and had lots of fun.  He learned basic steps in football.  He always watch a football game with his dad.  Of course as a proud mom,  I have to document moments like this!

Here's a page using gesso and some chipboard for some textured background brushed with some paint and stamped on. I'm joining this page on the Summer Challenge of Berry 71 Bleu June Challenge.

Wishing everyone a lovely weekend!

Artist Trading Cards

Whenever I feel lazy scrapbooking and need a boost on my mojo,  I start with an ATC.  So, after almost a year of hiatus in ATCsforall.com,  I went back and signed on a swap and PIF collage.

Here are my new collage ATC's :

I really am a slow scrapper. I timed myself and found out that I spent 30 mins on each ATC.

have a nice day everyone!

Bonding Moment

As promised,  I will be sharing more projects.  And to keep my mojo active,  I will be joining online challenges again and  to lessen my scrapbook backload as well.

Here's a page I created using the OUAS May sketch  collaboration with  berry 71 bleu

Here's my take on the sketch:  I am joining the bird is the word challenge also for Moment. And of course,  I miss the deadline.

close up on the background. I applied gesso and used a stick for the texture in applying, collage stamping and misting.  I added some numbers for the challenge  as embellishment.

close up on the chipboard:  applied gesso first before brushing with luminarte and opal dust.

Thanks for the visit  and have a great week ahead everyone!

Being Wacky

After two months of scrapbooking hiatus,   finally  I created a page. I now have tons of pictures to scrapbook  and after our family vacation in Singapore and Legoland Malaysia,  I have 700++ photos to choose from and edit  for scrapbooking.   Out of those photos,  I think I only have 20 shots.  Most of the photos were the boys.  We really had fun in Legoland most especially Zid  who is a Lego fan and collects Ninjago and Starwars Lego.   And a lot much cheaper there!

Here's the page I created and joining in the challenges of Inkido for the birdcages and birds challenge and Helen Tilbury's new challenge site - Scrap around the world using the sketch and inspirational board below.

Background paper is from the 2011 Christmas line of Inkido  and other patterned paper from Websters pages.  This is really my Zid,  most of his photos now are so wacky. No more serious little guy.

close ups on the details: The cute flower and blings are from Inkido too.

This time  I will keep my promise in sharing more projects.  Candy crush won't be distraction anymore.  Oh I hope so!!!

Have a great week everyone and happy mother's day to my beloved mommy friends there!

hugs,

Jona

Didn't forget

Hi everyone!

I know its been a while  since  I last posted on my much neglected blog.  I haven't forgotten this hobby.  In fact,  I have been altering joournals for giveaways  to our recently concluded reunion.  Its been 20 years since I graduated from High School.   Yeah,  I am a 90's teenager.  And its good to be a teenager once again and be foolish with friends.

This is one of the reasons why scrapbooking took a backseat for awhile.  I was one of the committee for our reunion.  All our hardwork paid off.  It was a night full of fun and laughter  and lasted until 4am.  (Forgetting that most of us are parents!  Feeling teenagers!)

On the side note,   here's a page  I created last March  and never had a chance to share with everyone. I will be creating more soon.

Sample of the altered journal  I made for the reunion.  Of course,  this one stayed with me.

Thank you for the visit.   Hope  everyone is having a great week!!!

Jona

Scraps and washi tapes

Scraps and washi tapes  are good combination.  You just need 1 new patterned paper or 1 cardstock for background  and viola!  A finished lay-out.  Well for my part,  old patterned papers  that are forgotten and kept aside  because  I just sometimes  love looking at them  and not really using them.

I combined here my old Pink Paislee PP's and scraps from websters pages and other scraps  I found in my box.  Yes,  I don't throw them away. And with a touch of some washi tapes,  my page is complete.

Do you love washi tapes too?

Thanks for the visit!

Weekend Bonding

Last weekend,   I had the opportunity to share my hobby with my friends.  We had a sleepover in my friend's condominium in Eastwood, Libis.  It was a great weekend to be with my friends and my boys.  Well,  my husband tells us its non stop chatting and less scrapbooking.  Well,  we did our best to multi-task.

taking a break with our family in Yellow cab (oh, we almost forgot we need to feed them dinner!)
To start,   I introduced to them  the scrapbook tools and materials first.  Since it will be their very first time to scrapbook.  I shared with them my stuff too and extra embellishments (now,  I have a great way to consume all my stuff and make room for new ones).

I also showed to them, a sketch from Filipino Scrapbookers Challenge blog to draw inspiration. And only me, used the sketch for my lay-outs.  I finished 4 lay-outs and two of my lay-outs are based on this sketch.

Here's my take on the sketch:
8 yrs
I did some stamping and masking for the techniques  and of course,  using my favorite washi tapes.

and my 2nd lay-out:
Explore

I twisted the sketch a little bit here.

close up on the chipboard using opal dust.

Its good to be scrapbooking again and joining challenges.  I hope  I can keep it up til the year end.

Thanks for the visit.
