Fun in the Sand

Its summer in Manila!!!

Sometimes hot,  sometimes rainy,  sometimes cold.  Oh,  I hate this weather changes  because of global warming!

Its a beautiful day today  and I here I am, alone in the corner of our room.  My son is out with his grandma and cousins while hubby is at work.  Yeay,  playtime for me in my scrap area!!!  Before,  I hide in my happy place  let me share with you my page that shouts summer!!!

These photos were taken during our summer vacation last year in Singapore.  We stayed in Sentosa and very near the Siloso Beach.  We had so much fun and we love going to the beach before and after visiting other places in Singapore.

Supplies: Patterned paper - Bo Bunny, Pink Paislee, October Afternoon, Websters Pages; Chipboard - Alpha (thickers), Key (rangers), clock (diecut from sizzix), button (Websters); others - washi tape, bakers twine.
 Close up on details:

Painted white paint on the chipboard  before applying perfect pearls and bits of opal dusts:

This lay-out is inspired  from the sketch of Get Picky  and photo inspiration from Bellaidea's blog.  I used the green color of the garden and added the clock piece to frame the photos  as "gate".

My Lucky Charms

I am grateful for all my blessings.  And the my greatest blessing in life  are my lucky charms.  My hubby and my son.  They complete me.

I may not have the riches in the world,  wear signatures items  and tote designer bags.  I am happy and contented with my simple life with my loving family.   I love building memories with them.

Huge banners and washi tapes  are the fad these days  and I've got to try it out.  I had fun doing this page  and I never thought  I can finish it in less than 2 hours.  Well,  I really am a slow scrapper.

So Kikay!

Yup, that's me!

Kikay is a Filipino slang for a girl who is hip, trendy,  loves fashion and lots of girly stuff.  Wikipedia relates Kikay to flirting.  Well,  for someone who loves to be trendy  boys might think its flirting.

So its me!  I love to accessorize  and I love girly stuff,  much to the my  hubby's disapproval.  But what can he do.  A girl has to do what a girl has to do!

Papers:  inkido, flowers - prima and inkido,  lace - prima, bling - prima

My lay-out is inspired by Once upon sketch with their challenge to scrap  what we do best.  So this is one of the things I do best  - to be a Kikay!  I am proud to say  I am Kikay and I admit  there was a time in my life  that I did flirt. My husband will agree to that.  LOL!

Thanks for the visit  and have a great day!

Upcycling!

I love to alter,  turn trash into treasures

and my favorite to alter are bottles!!!  Glass bottles  specifically.  My siblings love tostitos salsa  and I just love waiting for them to finish the bottle.  Of course,  I'm itching to alter it and add to my collection!
These bottles though are from a good friend  who knew  what I love best.  Thank you so much Vina!  You make one crafty person  really happy!

Thanks for the visit and have a great Sunday!

Lola's treasure

My mom with his two grandsons - Wacs and my son, Zid.
These two would always fight  to get my mom's attention and who sits beside her.  Oh well, me and my younger sister are just like that  when we were in their age.

My Creative Mess

Its a beautiful Wednesday!

A busy and inspiring table for me.  I love looking at it this way,  my creative mess:

The lay-out  I finished last thursday and still seating on my table  since  I never got a chance to take a photo of it last weekend,  an atc  I am trading,  a mixed media tag, papers for the ATC  I am working on,  the eiffel tower stamp from Inkido,  my wicker basket and box that hold those loose papers and other bits  that makes me happy.
I need to take a better photo of this lay-out!   This page is special to me  since  its almost 3 decades  of friendship with these gals.  We were friends  since we were 6 years old - from grade school to high school until after college.  Now,  most of us are married and some are living abroad.  And we still see each other  at least twice a year  for those who are left behind.

My ATC for Meredith, that girl is so cute!
My mixed media tag - I need a better photo of this too.
Thanks for dropping by  and don't forget to drop by Julia  for more snoop and lots of inspirations!

Have a great day!
hugs,  Jona

We heart Woody

Yes,  I am a mother and I love cartoons!    I watch with my son  and one of our favorites is Woody Woodpecker!  Don't you love his voice  and his funny antics?

We are so glad that we had a chance to see Woody Woodpecker in Universal Studios Singapore!  I would love to buy the woody doll as souvenir  but then,  I might end up buying other characters too.  So,  a photo with the toy shop would do just as great!

I can't get enough of misting and playing with my scraps and recycled a previous embellishment.   Talk about project Green!  Mother Earth would be so proud of me.
clusters of inkido flowers with websters pages lace:

my recycled embellishment -  I used this rose buds in my art tray before. The stamped tag  is from my friend Cookie

Happy Sunday, everyone!  Its been a productive weekend for me.   I am trying to finish all my backlogs  before we have another vacation to scrap and not to mention  everyday moments  that is worth scrapbooking.

Supplies:  Patterned paper - Pink paislee, Websters Pages, Best Creation; chipboard - Maya road, flower - inkido, tools - Martha stewart
