Didn't forget

Hi everyone!

I know its been a while  since  I last posted on my much neglected blog.  I haven't forgotten this hobby.  In fact,  I have been altering joournals for giveaways  to our recently concluded reunion.  Its been 20 years since I graduated from High School.   Yeah,  I am a 90's teenager.  And its good to be a teenager once again and be foolish with friends.

This is one of the reasons why scrapbooking took a backseat for awhile.  I was one of the committee for our reunion.  All our hardwork paid off.  It was a night full of fun and laughter  and lasted until 4am.  (Forgetting that most of us are parents!  Feeling teenagers!)

On the side note,   here's a page  I created last March  and never had a chance to share with everyone. I will be creating more soon.

Sample of the altered journal  I made for the reunion.  Of course,  this one stayed with me.

Thank you for the visit.   Hope  everyone is having a great week!!!

hugs,

Jona

Scraps and washi tapes

Scraps and washi tapes  are good combination.  You just need 1 new patterned paper or 1 cardstock for background  and viola!  A finished lay-out.  Well for my part,  old patterned papers  that are forgotten and kept aside  because  I just sometimes  love looking at them  and not really using them.

I combined here my old Pink Paislee PP's and scraps from websters pages and other scraps  I found in my box.  Yes,  I don't throw them away. And with a touch of some washi tapes,  my page is complete.

Do you love washi tapes too?

Thanks for the visit!

Weekend Bonding

Last weekend,   I had the opportunity to share my hobby with my friends.  We had a sleepover in my friend's condominium in Eastwood, Libis.  It was a great weekend to be with my friends and my boys.  Well,  my husband tells us its non stop chatting and less scrapbooking.  Well,  we did our best to multi-task.

taking a break with our family in Yellow cab (oh, we almost forgot we need to feed them dinner!)
To start,   I introduced to them  the scrapbook tools and materials first.  Since it will be their very first time to scrapbook.  I shared with them my stuff too and extra embellishments (now,  I have a great way to consume all my stuff and make room for new ones).

I also showed to them, a sketch from Filipino Scrapbookers Challenge blog to draw inspiration. And only me, used the sketch for my lay-outs.  I finished 4 lay-outs and two of my lay-outs are based on this sketch.

Here's my take on the sketch:
8 yrs
I did some stamping and masking for the techniques  and of course,  using my favorite washi tapes.

and my 2nd lay-out:
Explore

I twisted the sketch a little bit here.

Its good to be scrapbooking again and joining challenges.  I hope  I can keep it up til the year end.

Thanks for the visit.

New lay-outs

My first three lay-outs for the year.   And I hope  I can beat my 45 lay-outs last year.   I know I have to start playing with my stuff and not just keep on hoarding.  Well,  actually,  its washi tapes  that I have been buying lately.

I used the kit from Iris class using Websters Pages with masking and texture technique and washi tapes.   Oh,  I just love washi tapes.  And I want more!

Hope you are all having a great week!

Happy New Year!!!

Happy New Year Dear Friends!!!

I hope you still know me.  Its been so long,  nope,  its been ages  since  I have been to my blog.   I miss visiting your blogs too.

Since I was transferred to a new department and position with my work,   I had lesser time to scrapbook.  I did a few craft things though, a mini album  for a swap,  a mini album  as a gift for a friend,  altered paper bags for my christmas gifts.

Scrapbooking took a back seat  for the last two quarters of 2012  and reading took most of my time.  I was able to finish  17 novels  last year.  Woohoo!!!  Yeah!  So I have a jumpstart for 2013.  LOL!   My target is still to finish 12 novels this year.

Happy New Year!!!   I promise  I will be sharing projects  soon and more often.

Hugs,

Jona

Friends are like flowers in the garden  and color our life.

My friends - Rina and Ning, my found jewels in Mindoro.  Our friendship started in that province and never ended there  even after  I got married  and relocated back in Manila. We color each other's lives.
Here's a lay-out of one of our bonding moments here in Manila recently.  We all love havaiannas  and even made our own friendship havaiannas.

Back to School

Its back to school in this side of the world.

And yes,  my no longer little boy  is going to a big school now.  He really wanted to study in the school of his cousin.  He is also now in the stage  of  'No more photos pls".  Thus,  I  have few photos  to choose from  for his back to school page.

I know I have been using this KI Memories die cut for a mask  and I have been loving it.  Perfect for my boy pages and back to school theme.

Joining the fun and challenges  at The color room for palette #115, scrap for help  for use of old metals and Flourish with a bling sketch.

Close ups on the jack vine flourish  from FWAB  and bits of metals from my old accessories:

Thanks for the visit  and have a great day!

hugs,  Jona
